Brilliant performance at the World Beer Awards 2021!
VOTED COUNTRY WINNER IN THE BELGIAN STYLE BLONDE CATEGORY
Last week, the results of the World Beer Awards, the most prestigious beer competition in the world, were announced!
Whereas our Wipers Times Blond (previously: Wipers Times 14) won a bronze medal last year in the ‘Belgian Style Blond’ category, we ‘won big’ this year because Wipers Times Blond was crowned ‘Country Winner’ in that same category! In addition to taking home the gold medal, we were also voted ‘Best Belgian Style Blond’, meaning we are currently in the running to be crowned World’s Best Belgian Style Blonde! The winner will be announced around mid-September.
SILVER FOR TREMIST
Tremist, our saison beer, also took home its first ever award at the World Beer Awards, winning silver in the ‘Saison’ category. Tremist is a refreshing, copper blond beer (saison style) with an alcohol content of 6.4%. It is the result of a collaboration between Belgian design furniture company Extremis and the Kazematten brewery. This farmhouse ale reflects a sunny day in a glass of fresh, blonde beer. Slightly veiled and nicely rounded with a creamy white foam head. A superb thirst-quencher. The saison beer style is reminiscent of the farmhouse ales that farmers traditionally brewed in the quiet winter months to quench the thirst of their seasonal workers during the hot summer months.
BRONZE FOR WIPERS TIMES DUBBEL
Wipers Times Dubbel, which was launched just a month ago, entered the World Beer Awards for the first time, winning a bronze medal in the ‘Herb & Spice’ category. Wipers Times Dubbel is a top-fermented, full-bodied brown ale (6.5% alc. vol.), brewed exclusively using local hops. Presenting a creamy, frivolous head, this beer pairs a deep reddish glow with an unbridled, generous aroma. Easy to drink, with a sublime, nutty finish.
